U.S. presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. says he's "totally committed to Bitcoin"
The presidential candidate says most of his wealth is in digital assets.

Cryptocurrencies and their role in the economy have become a hot issue in the election.
Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. stepped up his support for Bitcoin at the BTC 2024 conference in Nashville. "I'm a huge supporter of Bitcoin. I have most of my wealth in Bitcoin and I'm totally committed to it."
Bitcoin has become a hot issue in this election, as Republican candidate Donald Trump's campaign announced in May that it would accept donations in cryptocurrencies. Many cryptocurrency entrepreneurs have thrown their support behind the Trump campaign, with Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell donating $1 million in cryptocurrency to Trump, while the Winklevoss twins have donated to a pro-Trump political action committee (PAC).
A libertarian-leaning candidate, Kennedy took aim at the Federal Reserve system, arguing that the interests of the central bank lie with bankers, not ordinary people. "The relationship between Congress and the Fed is parasitic to our country, it's a symbiotic relationship. The Fed is not a public institution... The decision makers are appointed by the banking industry," he said on a panel hosted by TheStreet.
Kennedy also argued that the coronavirus lockdown heavily favors billionaires at the expense of "ordinary people." "The blockade... shut down all the small businesses in this country that we should be nurturing, but kept open Walmart, Amazon, Facebook, the oil industry, the processed food industry, big agriculture. They all flourished during that time," he said.
Speaking at the CoinDesk Consensus conference in Austin, Texas, earlier this year, Kennedy said cryptocurrencies are the key to "freedom of exchange." "We need to have sovereignty over our own wallets, trading free and transparent currencies. We need to ensure that the United States remains the hub of blockchain technology," he said at the Consensus conference.
