Trump says fourth NFT series will be released: 'The people want me to do another one'

Trump's presidential campaign has raised about $3 million in cryptocurrencies, mostly Bitcoin and Ethereum.

According to an interview with Bloomberg, former President Donald Trump plans to release a fourth NFT series.

Trump has shifted toward embracing the cryptocurrency industry, saying that "if we don't do it, China will."

According to a wide-ranging interview published Tuesday in Bloomberg Businessweek, Donald Trump plans to release a fourth NFT series. In the interview, Trump said his previous collection was "very successful" and sold out in a day: "The whole collection sold out: 45,000 cards. I did it three times [and] I'm going to do it again because people want me to do it again. It's incredible spirit. Beautiful."

Mr. Trump had previously hinted at the idea of a fourth NFT collection at a dinner for his portrait NFT holders at Mar-a-Lago in May, but did not take a position at the time, saying, "I believe in supply and demand. You know, one does a great job, two does a great job, three does a great job. That could change at some point."

However, as the cryptocurrency industry continues to support Trump's campaign, the former president seems to be increasingly accepting of NFT and cryptocurrencies. In May, Trump's campaign began accepting cryptocurrency donations. According to a Wall Street Journal report Tuesday citing new data from the Federal Election Commission (FEC), of the roughly $331 million raised by Trump's election campaign last quarter, about $3 million was in cryptocurrencies.

Yesterday, Trump announced his support for Bitcoin Senator J.D. Vass (R-Ohio) as his running mate.

Key figures in the cryptocurrency industry, including Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell and Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have donated significant amounts of money to Trump's campaign and associated Super PACs, Including the new Trump-only America PAC and crypto-backed Fairshake.

"It's not going away. It's amazing." Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek, adding that he has "gotten to know a lot" of people in the cryptocurrency industry, calling them "top people" at his fundraisers.

Trump, who was once skeptical of cryptocurrencies, told Bloomberg BusinessWeek that he had come around to the industry because "if we don't do it, China will take over, China will own it - or somebody else, but probably China. China is very interested in it."

"We have a good foundation." Trump said of the cryptocurrency industry in the United States. "It's a baby. It's a baby right now. But I don't want to be the one responsible for letting another country take over the field."
